Transportation

Approximately $32 million in grants per year is for transportation. These grants are normally used to assist in planning, design and construction of transportation improvements.

A limited amount of grant money is available for research and development projects.

With so many of our neighborhood streets, bridges, highways, airports and railways falling apart due to lack of investment and strategic long term planning.

Strengthening our transportation systems has become a priority. Upgrades must be made to our roads and bridges to meet the demands of the growing population, the changing economy and our short and long term energy challenges.
